Sky Stadium is located at a waterfront site in the heart of Wellington, New Zealand.
It is a multipurpose sport and entertainment venue with a total capacity of 34,500 (which 24,000 seats are undercover). The stadium has played host to many sports including Rugby Union, Rugby League, Cricket, Soccer, Concerts and even Australian Rules Football.
It is nicknamed the “Cake Tin” because its distinctive round shape, metal exterior and relatively shallow design resembling a large, metal cake baking tin, especially when viewed from above.
